Town Tour Christchurch

Christchurch good, Margaret Mahy Park was really good because it had the water thing and the slide was really hard to get up into. The train was really good to go on because you were able to go round starts and look at things always with friends.The museum is really good because it has a lot of interesting activities. I like the virtual reality activity.

Omaka Camp

 Omaka camp is good for peace and quiet until the planes come back and it had a cooking room for cooking your meals. The river there was good to go river rafting down and it was nice to relax under the trees on a hot day. It's okay if there is like a lake is good for kayaking. 

A guide to Doosan diggers

From the start of this week we have been focussing on creating a Maori piece of art work and adding our Mihi. This is mine hope you guys enjoy.

Power of positivity

In class we are learning how to be positive. We are doing this so that we can focus on being nice to each other. We have done some skits to show how to be positive. I enjoyed this because you got to interact with the people in your house group who you would not normally work with in class. 

My group did “Everybody Loves a Compliment”. We were in the class and were giving each other compliments. One of our characters wasn’t very good at giving them so we had to encourage her by giving her lots of compliments. A compliment is where you say something thoughtful to another person about what they are wearing or how they did something.

Positivity is having a good attitude. You help people out and certainly not be mean to people. If you be positive to people they will be positive back to you.

This week I felt really good when Mrs Sutherland said good morning to me, it was nice to see her. The other morning I yelled “Good Morning to Mrs Sutherland!” across the playground. I know she appreciated that  because she smiled and also mentioned it in class.

Project 7

We were cleaning out the chicken coop and putting grass seed into the run.We raked if over and then put the sawdust over the grass seed.Tt was alright but Tdid get covered in dust

At maths time

Today we learnt how to do multiplication by rounding. Here is my explain everything to remind myself how to do it. If you watch it you might learn a new trick too.

Clubs

I thought I was the only boy because I didn't see Jack, I was relieved when I spotted him as we walked in to Ruru. We have the coolest teacher for dance, Miss Lake. I love the  dances that we are doing because you are moving your whole body. I find it a wee bit hard especially the ones on the floor, it is much easier standing up.

I’m hoping that I will be able to finish a dance without making a mistake. I will need to make sure I listen to the person telling you how to do it and the music. I also need to watch the leaders carefully, maybe I could record them on my ipad so I can be reminded during the week.

Marcus and I had to do a presentation about WW1 so we decided to make a presentation about WW1 Tanks. We used Google slides and recorded it on Screen-Castify. Here it is: WW1 Tanks

5 Times Tables

I liked walking up Mt Richardson because all my friends enjoyed the walking up too. It was good because you could walk in between the different groups. in the middle you can walk at your own pace.

 I didn’t like going down mt Richardson because the back of my legs were hurting. I didn’t like waiting  for groups because sometimes you had to wait for 5 minutes and you just  want to get down.

My dog

Dads dog is Bernie  she is a Saint Bernard.

Dad got her as a puppy. She weighed 18.85kgs when she was 14 weeks old and now weighs 67.5kgs.at 2 years old. She loves lots of attention but slobbers ever where.

Machinery

This is a Haitachi digger, it is used for roads and construction work.

This is mining digger and is used mainly in mines.

Length

Last term we were learning about measurement. I became an expert in Length with Lucy and Payton. We have created this explain everything to share our learning.

Flying to Hanmer

Cross country 

On Wednesday we had our school Cross Country at the domain. The weather was perfect for the event.

In the forest I was just about to stop because I nearly fell over a rock but I kept on running. I felt like I was going to run out of breath because it was really hard to keep the people in front of me in sight. I came 3rd place out of 4. I am not going to Tri-Schools because the course is a lot harder as there are hills to go up and down. Ethan and Harry are going, I think they will come in a good place.
